Bocconi Students Fintech Society has outlined the most important trends in fintech transactions in 2019 and 2020 with a focus on the midterm outlook and on the biggest recent transactions involving the funding of Klarna and Stripe, two of the highest valued fintech companies in the world.
2020 has been a gamechanger for the fintech industry. The already exponential growth in total value of investments into fintech companies worldwide from 2010 to 2019 (CAGR 38%) is expected to increase even more due to the structural changes caused by the COVID pandemic. This has led to a rise in M&A, equity- and debt capital markets transactions that will shape the competitive landscape within the fintech sector.
